Today we donated parcels of dry rations to families in a small village near my home temple. These days in Sri Lanka, the energy crisis has a lot of families out of work, and the increasing prices make food more and more unaffordable for families. There are so many sad stories of families living on one meal or less per day at this time, and being short of food is something I have never really experienced in Sri Lanka. Despite our status as a developing nation, this island is rich with agriculture, and sadly, this is an unprecedented situation.
