This organization provides children fighting this disease with handmade wigs during their struggle towards recovery. Michael himself has donated his hair several times as an example. Unfortunately, Bhante, cannot do the same. This year’s highlight was a local school in Sri Lanka: Kandy Girl’s High School. Inspired by Michael and Bhante’s actions, 400 girls lined up to donate their beautiful hair! What a beautiful gift from the country that is considered the largest eye-donation nation in the world. Completing these actions show that we are inspired by the Buddha’s teachings, and demonstrate our loving kindness.

Accepting the Differently Able Children Project

Michael

2018

Accepting the Differently Abled Children Project at K/Senkadagala Deaf and Blind School (Kandy, Sri Lanka) Through the help of Michael Fronczak, and in memory of Daniel Fronczak, Michael’s father, we…

Accepting the Differently Abled Children Project at K/Senkadagala Deaf and Blind School (Kandy, Sri Lanka)

Through the help of Michael Fronczak, and in memory of Daniel Fronczak, Michael’s father, we are paving areas of the grounds at the school to help assist the students and make moving around the premises easier. A group of people from The Blue Lotus Temple, whom are followers of Bhante Sujatha, were fortunate to have the opportunity to visit the school, see the grounds in person, and experience a beautiful talent show featuring the students through dance and music. The group was welcomed to light a traditional oil lamp as an extension of gratitude and loving kindness. Members of this special group included: Duane Deyoung, June Meier, Joyce Meier, Cheryl Martin, Delores Coe, Jessica Russell, Charlie Pennington, Katherine Tragasz. Michael Fronczak spoke on behalf of his work with the school, thanking the staff for the opportunity for us to once again show our generosity. With that said, we delivered towels and stationary to each student, as a gift of our support towards the mission of the school.

The 15th Annual Incubator and Mother’s Project

Michael

2018

Mothers Bring Peace to the World – The 15th Annual Incubator and Mother’s Project For the past fifteen years, Bhante Sujatha has been spearheading this project to help support the…

Mothers Bring Peace to the World – The 15th Annual Incubator and Mother’s Project

For the past fifteen years, Bhante Sujatha has been spearheading this project to help support the premature babies and expecting mothers in Sri Lanka. This year marked his 21st incubator donation to the Peradeniya General Hospital, with the help of Dr. Ranaraja, a gynecologist of the hospital. This year we invited 300 expectant mothers to Bhante’s home temple, Subodharamaya, with his master Wattegama Dhammawasa Nayaka Thero in Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. These women were provided with baskets full of basic needs for infant care, and umbrellas; in addition, the temple sought out to teach them loving kindness meditation to help through the delivery and care of their new baby. We must always remember: “It takes a village to raise a child.” Thanks to all my students and followers from America, Australia, Europe, Malaysia, Dubai, and Sri Lanka.

Annual Awareness Walk For Differently Abled Children

Michael

2018

July 22nd marked a special event organized by Sanatha Suawya and the Blue Rose School. Through the support of donations, the loving kindness of friends and community members, our annual walk to bring awareness to differently abled Sri Lankans was a huge success! Approximately 300 children, family members, and local supporters participated, including a visit from the Governor. We began the event at the Sacred Temple of the Tooth, walked around the entire Kandy Lake, and ended the journey at place called Awanhala. Once there, local children greeted participants with a very entertaining and delightful performance. Thank you to all the donors, volunteers, and participants who helped make this event so successful.
